ID Backscenes will also supply the picture on a sticky back vinyl. As long as you carefully smooth the scene out from one end it should go down without any bubbles. I used a foamboard backing as recommended by ID Backscenes. They did a superb job of stitching my own pictures together, tidying up the joins and even removing items such as very modern buildings and solar panels etc as my scene is set in the 1940s.

Very clever and very reasonable.

Sorry didn’t see the reply about how you stuck them down. Why did you use 5mm ply ? Is it ok to use 9mm that’s what I use from off cuts. Also I see where I went wrong coating the rail heads creating bad contact.

It's just the right stiffness without being too heavy to handle. The next piece I'm going to do is 8' x 16". I just bought a full 8x4 sheet and got the merchant to cut into 3 equal strips. The back scene is 15" tall.
