It depends what is in the corners. I have a hill and a field in the two furthest corners that I did before anything else. Only time I need to reach them is if a sheep falls over

That’s true WTD, my corners also only have scenery but I have seen plenty of track plans where corners have sidings in them. Best to be aware before you start.

I found out the hard way, 2’ boards all round to start with made for a relatively straightforward stretch. A year later I added a very small extension to the front edge of the board for my harbour. Now I bend all the masts on the boats every time I reach into the corner.

If I were starting again, I think I would fit curved backscenes in the corners effectively shortening the reach and allowing the inner edge of the board to be curved to maintain a 2’ board width.
