Pre wiring!?! Now why didn't I think of that??? Alternatively, you could hinge the baseboard so that underboard wiring is all in front of you, on the wall! I have known that done. All a bit late for me now, as all wiring was completed some time ago, including semaphore signals. By the way, is anybody still using H&M point motors, like wot I am?
Glad to have been some help anyway.

I found fitting extended pin point motors had an additional advantage even if you don't need all of that length - they are easier to get through the hole in the points and it's easier for someone to help you from the topside as there is more to get hold of. They cost the same anyway so I always buy PL10E.

Good luck.
