Default Electrotren. Anyone know of any links?

Acquired my first, and for a while only, piece of Electroen while on holiday
in Wales in about 1976. My dear sister sent me this Wine Wagon to
do service on my British OO layout, "Bamburgh." That it is Iberian makes
little difference, most visitors would not know Spain from Canada.

If I am not terribly careful, I shall end up collecting these exquisite gems
by the armful. Incidentally, I am quite unable to satisfy my Electroen
curiousity on web searches. Could anyone provide me with a link or
two? Just to look, of course. I'd sooner afford the Crown Jewels.

Hi Chops,
Electrotren (Spanish for Electric Train!) was formed in 1951 in Spain. They initially started making models in 0 scale (1/43rd) but in 1954 they started producing H0 scale (1/87th).
They were quite famous in Spain, very much a Spanish Hornby or Athearn.
If your wagon was bought in 1976, it will be an original Spanish product.
Since 2004, it has been part of the Hornby International range, produced in China.
I've had a few of their models and they were quite reasonable. I do find the older wheelsets to be more crude than usual Euro wheels are but a French outline CC7100 class electric loco I regret selling was a lovely smooth running, quality model.
Cheers,
John.

Thank you very much for the useful links and information. I have since discovered
that searching "Electron" or "Electroen" will lead to a web black hole. Thank you for the
correction!

I did look up the Manchester Club video, Allegheny. That fairly dropped my socks.
The semaphore dropping after the train past. Brilliant.

Thanks, Chops!
If you're ever in the UK, in the North West, please do call in!
Cheers,
John.

I would be certain to do so, Allegheny. I shall make a mental note of this for the places
I want to visit. It does not help, however, that I'd like to see the whole affair top to
bottom.
