have contacted block control and sent a photo so will see what they say
the cdu that came with it had the same branding on it so doubt it is one of theirs

The smaller unit is indeed a solenoid point CDU.
The larger board is a LED point position indicator control board. See...
Link to Shockwaves PPI AFAIK they are produced by another manufacturer and probably nothing to do with BlockSignalling?

Bit of discussion here on this Irish MR forum where they seem be be somewhat unreliable according to the text! This is where the drawing above came from too.. Link 2

had a reply off block signalling

http://www.blocksignalling.co.uk/pdfs/X3LF2A.pdf
there is a shockwaves shop on ebay that sell block signalling kit suspect this may be an early rip off job the cdu that came with it is marked up as shockwaves and is pretty much identical to a block signalling one

All LED outputs are Negative (Cathode) to the indication LEDs,
The LEDs Positive (Anode) is taken from the input supply. If DC its direct and if AC is used it has a series diode - I suggest a 1N4001 or 1N4002 be used. See the drawing I provided a link to in post #12 above.
You need fit a 1000 Ohm (1K0) series resistor per pair of point indication LEDs. This is wired in the Anode LED feed. Again see drawing I provide in post #12.

have a resistor fitted to led
problem I have is if + and _ are connected all in and out connections are live
have looked at instructions and videos for assorted models of point indicators and the one I have does not have a common return like all the others I have looked at so I expect its just a case of sorting out what power to feed in
