Neither as they are GWR water towers.

Just my thoughts on the subject.

I actually think that sound can greatly enhance a layout, however, it can so easily be overdone. Eveything just becomes an overbearing racket if you have too much going on at once and I think it is sometimes worth just sitting back and trying to visualise what sounds may realistically be heard in any given situation.

I see it time and time again in the area of my first love, namely RC model boats, where the ridiculous din coming from some models is totally disproportionate to reality. I have worked at sea all my life and am well aware of just how little noise emanates from the vast majority of larger vessels in normal operation.

Steam locomotives for me are completely brought to life with good quality sound but noise from other background sources strike me as a step too far.

The "Scottish" region was a number of different railways each with their own designs- North British, Caledonian, Glasgow South Western, Great North of Scottish, Highland. Suggest you look up on the web (google) what the water towers/cranes of each looked like and then equally look up Skaledale and Scenecraft ones to see if any are reasonable likeness.

Bunkerbarge I think the most important thing you said is 'good quality sound'.
