Default Simulating platform steps

Hi need some help with building some platform steps with the platform being 18mm high I'm wanting to build some steps from the platform to the baseboard but I'm stuck on what each step depth should be as I'm plan to use balsa wood for this.

Assuming OO a step could be 6" to 9" so @ 4mm to the foot you are looking at 2mm to 3mm if my arithmetic is correct

Shildon, Get yourself one of THESE if you want to do any scale scratch building. Very handy and takes the maths work out of it. Better price may be available, I picked mine up at a show.

Thanks Footplate for the link had a quick look but not what I'm wanting as my platform is scratch built with a grounded storage van as a goods store but I'm going to need to scratch build my steps also as the platform is not to big.

OK just though you could cut it up. Any way... As far as dimensions to work on go, the best approach I reckon as in many things is what it looks rite not what it measures. I have always thought that often when you see steps on models they look wrong often too large.

Hi Footplate I agree some steps you see just don't look right on some layouts and I understand where you are coming from when you where thinking about cutting the steps out which is a shame to hack the model. I have the materials to build ones own steps.
