Default DAPOL O gauge wagons

I have just bought a Dapol gauge O wagon, and although these are very good models they have a fault, the buffers fall off occasionally. Fortunately a search of the carpet was successful and I found the missing one.

A good tip is as soon as you unpack it for the first time is to press the buffers home to make sure they are seated properly, and then to paint the joint between the buffer shank and buffer beam with a tiny amount of Slaters Mekpak or similar solvent, to make sure it is fixed firmly. I am told this is a common fault with Dapol wagons.

If thats the only fault your lucky, the axle end float is another problem they have too, along with brake rodding falling off. I keep a pile of spares for mine just in case.

Not happened to me with these yet, but thanks for the warning, Brian. Dapol do rather need to watch their quality control!
