Yippee!
It has been started and then either the builder was moved by something else or died.
The body part which he started has been beautifully made.
This guy knew what he was doing.
I wonder who he was?
So many thoughts go through my mind when I pick up a project like this.
The smell of the old and complete instructions and all those bits!
I will have to spend a few hours to go painstakingly through it to make sure all is there.
A few of the parts are soaking in lemon juice at the moment.
It came complete with motor wheels and gear box which is what I was searching for.
The motor was solid at first but still new but left for decades.
One hour later after using a hair dryer and spinning it with my mini drill she freed up nicely.
I think it's a DS10. It's a five pole.
Big smile on my face today.

Roger.
It should be straight forward in essence.
I have put a Backwoods Garratt together before and that was......
Well.......Intricate!,

Thanks.
Yes I love it.
When I have made it in the brass I will post a few pics.
Then ruin it by covering it with paint.

That was a great find Pete. They are wonderful kits. I saw one recently which was very well made at an exhibition few months back. It was without doubt the best looking Jinty I have seen, looking forward to seeing yours with paint.

I like the 'Prairie'. It's a nice change to see one in lined Black. I'll be looking out for the Jinty, as well

An Oxford Rail Isle of Man Beyer Peacock 2-4-0T arrived this week. Non-motorised (in fact the wheels, etc are a single moulding so it isn't even a rolling chassis), but it is a delightful static model and captures the feel of the real thing.
