A CDU is always worth obtaining for solenoid point motor operation.. If AC and the input is between 14 an 18 volts. Just remember that a CDU increases the AC input volts by approx. 1.4 times....

I do not recommend using any Dremel style drill and metal cutting disks to trim the drive pin, as the heat generated by the cutting can very quickly lead to the points plastic tie bar hole melting...
