Reefer Madness

In the USA, a refrigerated wagon is known as a "reefer." I got the

such reefers last evening at the El Paso Model Train Club.
Oddly...

see roads listed for sale. As for the full on, full off nature of the thing,

Pola Trolley Bus Question

Looking to fiddle with another project altogether, and was curious about
the Pola Trolley Bus contraption, in or about 1/87 scale. One I saw at

BTW, Bullied Boy, seems like you know way about! I believe the photo is also
of one of my favorite fish and chips shops, thereabouts. Holmes Beach?
Also got...

Oh, off the subject, Bazil, have you ever seen the Scottish film, "Gregory's Girl"? It came
out in the 1980's and regards adolescent angst and first love. A brilliant film. Can you
recommend any...

Here in the Texas

Coal traffic is up, thanks to changes in Federal policy. My train driver
friend tells me that the "Trip Optomizer," akin to a cruise control
designed to save fuel, has been sacked by the...

The British manner of using small space is endlessly fascinating to me. I might suggest that it is well to keep in mind that anything requiring a reach of more than 2 feet, 0.6 meters, will be a...

What is the British weather doing today?

Here, the very short spring season is underway, those trees that exist
are in full leaf, dry as stone. Temperature about 26C today. Not a
cloud in the sky. As usual. Soon it will really get hot,...

I was rooting around in the Forum this afternoon, and was rather wishing to
see more photos of this creation. The use of color is subtle and evocative.

The good news is that getting the legs right, by use of adjustable T nut
levelers corrected the issues. Failing that, one can...

All too often, I have learned that stuff ends up on eBay for the same
reason used cars end up on used car lots: they are failing and the
owner wants out. Better to purchase used items at a place...

To my eye, the ballasting and scenery is immaculate. I wish I had such a steady
hand. What comes to my mind is perhaps a dilute wash of black, should it be
desired to tone it.

Jouef OO D1600

Fresh in from Scotland. Shows very little wear to treads, paint a little
crazed, but that "used" look is quite nice. Going to service it and

Useful to know, thank you. The wobble on my tender drive on my Hornby 4-4-0 was such that I thought the entire works was coming apart, but it otherwise runs quite
decently. No more worries, then.
