Run for 30 minutes at medium speed with no wagons. Pick it up turn it round and run it in reverse. Make sure the track is perfectly flat, check it with the edge of a steel rule.

Why does your track get dirty. I hardly ever clean mine. The occasional black speck appears and gets removed and the whole lot gets a clean once a year ish. Does your rolling stock have plastic...
