Depending on the diameter of the brass tube you could support it internally with a toothpick or similar of a suitable diamenter when cutting. should stop the tube collapsing.

I used it a lot on my 1946 Morris and it works a treat. Pricey but can save hours....

Mine is a Swann system, Day vision good and night vision usable. Can be viewed over internet if hard wired to broadband router.
Cameras are hard wired, plug and play once installed.
