Fixed axles have a maximum separation in order to be able to negotiate the shallower radius curves and especially points otherwise bogies are needed as in Bo-Bo arrangements........HB

You may find it worth checking the back to back wheel measurements especially on 3 axle steam locos. The centre axle of the drivers would benefit from being slightly less b2b than the usual 14.5mm...

You may find that it is not best practice to have the coach lights on permanently so you could incorporate a latching reed switch in circuit with the resistor in the roof and make a wand with magnet...

Difficult to say, John, it depends on the wattage output of the strip and the value of any reflective surfaces in the loft.......one 5m strip I have details of shows only 24 watts so I would suggest...

Decoder needs to be connected to a motor before...

Decoder needs to be connected to a motor before programming I believe, had to do that with a DMU.....HB

Don't you have to address the decoders...

Don't you have to address the decoders separately?......separate the two cars and do the TTS decoder first as it is connected to the motor, then take the trailer car decoder out, plug into the motor...

That's true, John, but ring mains cope with 60 amps compared to 1 or 2 amp through my track at 15 volts so for me screw connection is perfectly adequate but I respect the diligence applied by fellow...
